Known by the name Alcohol and You in Northern Ireland, the company focuses on helping people keep a check on their alcohol consumption. They not only let people know about their health but also provide alcohol referral services and one-to-one counselling.

The client works in the healthcare sector and wanted to support people who regularly consume alcohol with a simple digital tool. Their aim was to help users understand their alcohol units, calorie intake, and possible health risks in an easy and practical way.

The client approached us with the requirement of an iOS mobile app named Know Your Units. The app needed to help people know the number of alcohol units consumed on a particular day.

The app had to provide users with different types of alcoholic drinks to choose from. It also needed a virtual bar and a unit checker tool to help users keep a check on alcohol units as well as calories.

A clear blueprint was prepared based on the client’s requirements and specifications. The project was completed and delivered before the marked deadline.

Our Solution

We developed and designed a creative yet useful iOS mobile app for people who wanted to keep a check on their alcohol consumption.

The app allowed users to choose the type of alcohol they had consumed. These options were displayed as images, and users could drag and drop them to calculate their total consumption.

We also integrated a unit checker that helped users understand the number of units consumed, calories, and how long it would take to “run-off” those calories.

The virtual bar feature helped users understand whether their health could be at risk and provided them with the required advice.
